Vermiculite

Vermiculite is a lightweight, highly absorbent mineral that conditions soil permanently. Exfoliated to a 2–4 mm grade, it improves aeration and water retention in pots, seed trays and garden beds.

• Holds several times its weight in water, releasing it as roots need it
• Keeps potting mixes light and prevents compaction
• Sterile and pH-neutral — safe for seedlings and cuttings
• Inorganic and permanent: it never rots or degrades

How to use: Blend 20–30% by volume into potting mixes, or cover fresh-sown seeds with a thin layer to keep them moist while germinating.
